The nominations for the 2025 American Music Awards have been announced! Hosted by Jennifer Lopez, the AMAs are set to take place live in Las Vegas on May 26, 8pm ET/5pm PT on CBS and stream on Paramount+ in the U.S.
Billie Eilish and Chappell Roan lead the LGBTQ nominees, landing in the top five most nominated with seven nominations each.
2019 New Artist of the Year winner Eilish nabbed nominations for Album of the Year, (Hit Me Hard and Soft), Song of the Year (“Birds of a Feather”), Favorite Touring Artist, Favorite Female Pop Artist, Favorite Pop Album, and Favorite Pop Song.
The 51st AMAs marks Roan’s first nomination including New Artist of the Year. She also received nominations for Album of the Year (The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess), Song of the Year (“Good Luck, Babe!”), Social Song of the Year (“HOT TO GO!”), Favorite Female Pop Artist, and Favorite Pop Album, and the prestigious title of Artist of the Year.
Roan is also the only artist to be nominated in all three of this year’s exciting new categories: Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Social Song of the Year.
Roan and Eilish are in good company with a group of talented women in the category including Beyoncé, Charli xcx, Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift.
GLAAD Media Award winner Doechii was also a first-time nominee with nods for Social Song of the Year with “Anxiety” and Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist alongside Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, Latto, and Sexxy Red.
Lady Gaga was nominated for her “Die with a Smile” duet with Bruno Mars in the categories of Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year and Collaboration of the Year. The “Abracadabra” artist was also nominated for Favorite Female Pop Artist and Favorite Dance/Electronic Artist.
GLAAD Media Award honoree Bad Bunny received noms for Favorite Male Latin Artist, Favorite Latin Album, Favorite Latin Song, and Favorite Latin Artist. Other noteworthy noms include Kehlani for Favorite Female R&B Artist, Green Day for Favorite Rock Song, and the Wicked soundtrack for Favorite Soundtrack.
The 2025 American Music Awards winners are voted by fans and voting is now open at VoteAMAs.com. Voting closes on Thursday, May 15 at 11:59:59pm PT, with the exception of Collaboration of the Year and Social Song of the Year, which will remain open through the first 30 minutes of the AMAs broadcast.
